Our program is not recreational, but a serious team sport. Parental support is integral to our success. We believe that every athlete at Cheer Xplosion is a valuable member of our program, and we will do our best to help foster each child’s individual skill development in the sport of cheerleading. It is our mission to prepare our teams and athletes to perform to their peak level of ability, ensuring them success on the competition floor. While it is our intent to train our cheerleaders to become outstanding athletes, we also believe that being a member of our all star program provides much more than simple training in cheerleading. We believe that our athletes will gain a tremendous amount of self confidence and learn valuable lessons in team dynamics. They are taught sportsmanship, goal setting and pride. They learn that with hard work, dedication and determination they can accomplish any task. Our coaching staff is privileged to have the opportunity not only to coach these children, but also to develop personal relationships with them and their families. There are three basic roles in the North Shore Cheer X-plosion All Star program.
For a large percentage of competitors, understanding what classy behavior is and choosing to practice it are definitely two different things. The right choice is often the one that is the most difficult to make or the one that involves the most personal sacrifice. Peer pressure to look cool or follow the crowd is in many cases stronger that the core values of “do unto others” and simply being polite- this often leads to mean spirited behavior. If all teams members make an effort to sincerely wish other “good luck” and cheer for other organizations as well as their own, the positive effect would be contagious.
In order to compete at Cheer Xplosion, you must agree to treat others as you would like to be treated.
Creating good spirited teams and fans has to start with the coach. In a competition setting, it is the job of the coach to prepare his/her teams and fans for whatever the outcome. By adequately preparing team members to win as well as lose, coaches teach their kids lessons that will serve them well in life.
The coaches provide a positive environment where athletes can strengthen their minds and bodies. They will treat each child individually and work with them to improve their skills at their success rate. Coaches will make decisions and take actions based upon the good of the program, the good of the team and the good of the individual athlete. They will prepare the athletes both as a group and individually to perform and present our program in the best possible light.
The lessons taught by practicing good sportsmanship and showing respect for fellow competitors are so important in today’s highly competitive society. Your role is to be the #1 fans of Cheer Xplosion, support the coaches and support your child at what they are capable of so that she can be the best that she can be.
Always show good sportsmanship at all times and set a good example for all team members.
